Clara Freaky Face

I have been stitching away on Clara lately and have managed some decent progress.  I finished the black outline on page 7 except the last 2 rows of stitching because the frame is in the way.  I also did some work on the brown strips on the hat and some work on her face.  The eyes were freaking me out starting out at me out of nothing.  However I did the dominant colour in her face which made her look even more freaky without the mouth filled in.  What do you think:


So I then decided to do her mouth and nose and make her look a bit more normal.  Still a little weird without the rest of her face but much improved I think:

    LOL!! The Billy Idol song "Eyes without a Face" kept coming to mind when I looked at your wip. What a difference a tiny nose and mouth makes! You're going great guns on Clara. Love the shading on her hat too.

    When i look at the first pic, I thought Clara is wearing a mask! How stunning is her lips! Love it!

    Great progress. Eyes are one of the reasons I tend to stitch faces last. Can't stand them staring at me.
