Be Jolly Santa Ornament Finished

The first of my Christmas Ornaments for this year is now all stitched up. I just need to decide how to finish him off but that can come later. He was lots of fun to stitch however I would make one change to him if I was going to stitch him again. The pattern calls for The Gentle Arts Sampler Threads in Slate for his mustache with DMC 648 as the equivalent. However I think that it looks a bit too dark so I would try it with DMC 415 instead if I do it again.

Here his is all stitched up:

Here he is with a button added on his hat. This is one I just had in my stash :

Other than the grey I'm very happy with how he turned out. Now onto something else, not sure what it will be yet though.

  2. Congrats on your finish! It is very cute. This is something I should be doing as well so I don't wind up trying to stitch up a bunch in December!! Laura

  3. Lovely finish! It seems very strange to me that ornaments are being stitched 6 weeks AFTER Christmas but I know I will be jealous come December! He is very jolly and I think his moustache looks great.
