App Review - Cross Stitch Fabric Calculator

When I did my review on the floss checker app, someone mentioned this. It's the Cross Stitch Fabric Calculator by Stitching the Night Away.
The concept is very simple - you enter the number of stitches by height and width. You then choose your fabric count (14ct, 18ct, 25ct etc).
There is an option to tick a box if you are going to be stitching 2 over 2 on linen or evenweave and another option is input how much extra fabric you want on each side for finishing/framing.
Once you have put in all this info, it gives you the size of the fabric you will need. It is super easy to use and it is free. You can however pay 99c to remove the ads if you wish.
The one issue I would have is that it is all in inches, so for anyone using the metric system this is a bit of a pain.

Amendment: Thank to Loretta for her comment. In my original post I raised the issue that I couldn't add fractions of inches when adding in the extra fabric calculations. However Loretta informed me that you should be able to add in decimal points for inches, however for some reason my phone won't let me. Either I'm doing something kinda dumb or it's just my phone acting up. Either way it's great to know it can be done. Thank you for taking the metric issue on board it would be great to have both systems. However I must stress that doesn't take away from this app, it's still a great app; really easy to use and handy to have.

  1. Thanks for the review :) I'll look into having a metric conversion added.

You can set it to add 1.5 inches(or .25 or whatever size you'd like) to each side of the piece, however the final output will round up to the nearest inch because that's how the majority of shops will cut your fabric.

Hope that helps. I appreciate the feedback, I hadn't even considered setting up a metric conversion so that's a wonderful idea.
