Homemade Foodie Goodies: Tomato Chutney

I hope you will all enjoy this post. This is a recipe that I have used for the last few years to make a Tomato Chutney for Christmas presents. My family love this and I decided to make some more as most of them have managed to polish off the Christmas batch.

The before shot: Chutney Prep
This is quite a simple recipe and can be found online here: Tomato Chutney Recipe. I would give one piece of advice if anyone decides to try this recipe and that is, use large onions. This recipe calls for 500g of red onions and if you use smaller onions it can feel like torture to try and get them all chopped.

The after shot: Chutney made and in jars
Also don't forget to sterilise your jars and lids before you put the Chutney in them. I also usually put a list of ingredients on a tag and tie it to the jar so that people know what in it in case there is anything they don't like. Please do let me know if you try this recipe and how you get on with it.
Enjoy!

    1. This is a great recipe as it is very simple. Just chop and dump it all in the pot for an hour or so.

  5. PTOT's big sister here to vouch for the pure deliciousness of this chutney. I get a precious jar each Christmas which doesn't last 2 days - the whole jar is gobbled for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So get those jar's sterilized and tomatoes chopped, because this recipe is well worth the effort.
