I'm Back

Well I'm really sorry I have been away for so long. Finally handed in my big project so I have had the last few days to relax and unwind. I have been playing a bit of Skyrim, doing a bit of stitching and trying to catch up with people.

I don't have a huge amount to show you all but I did manage to get one thing done start to finish. This is again from The Ultimate Joan Elliott Collection and is one of four cards for mums.

The Ultimate Joan Elliott Collection - Thank Heavens for Mum Cards
This was stitched on 28ct Jobelan evenweave 2 over 2. It was a really lovely small piece to work on, now I just have to find out how my mum would like it finished off. I am really starting to love my Ultimate Joan Elliott Collection. I want to stitch nearly everything in it.

I am a stickler about keeping it pristine but I did not have ink for my printer/photocopier to make a working copy. As I did not want to mark the original I got some transparent flags (you know the ones used for marking pages or pieces of interesting text in books. They are sticky and look sort of like transparent pieces of post it notes). I placed them over the chart and they are easy to mark with pencil. So I wouldn't have to use a lot of them I worked on a section, then erased the pencil marks and moved the flags to the next section.

I really hope that makes sense to everyone. I found them so useful and will definitely do the same again for small patterns when I don't have a working copy.

Well hopefully you all will be hearing more from me now. I have big plans for lots of crafting, reading, gaming and learning in the next while so hopefully will have lots to share with you all.

  4. What a cute Mother's Day card! I hope you get ink for your printer soon. The post-it note/pencil method sounds time-consuming! But thank goodness you didn't have to mark in your book!

  5. What a cute card! I never used to care about marking on the charts because I always threw them away when finished. Now I'm much more careful thanks to my cross-stitching brethren!
