Giveaway Winner!!

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a enjoyable and creative weekend. I managed to get some finishing work done and will have a few posts on that in the future. This is a post that I have been meaning to write for a while, the lovely blogger over at Southpaw Stitcher had a giveaway a few weeks ago and I was one of the very lucky winners. What a super lucky stitcher am I? I was so excited to receive this amazing package. I'm really looking forward to trying these out as they have lots of new techniques that I have not tried before. I really want to stitch the Rose Motif Sampler on some hand dyed fabric and with variegated thread, I think it would look amazing!!

These pattern booklets are quite substantial and a bit intimidating but the instructions look like they are clear and complete. I'm pretty sure I will make more than a few mistakes but that's to be expected with anything unfamiliar.

I haven't made much progress on my cross stitching WIP's but hopefully will get some more crafty time soon. In the meanwhile, have a picture of our fluffy kitty who was keeping me company during a photo session recently. I'm really happy with how this picture turned out, hopefully it's a sign my photography is improving. I just adore how bright and large his eyes came out in this.

Day of the Mini's

The last couple of days I decided I wanted something small and easy so I worked on a couple of mini projects that have been in my stash for a while. I used all existing stash, so yeah me :)

The first one is a Halloween ornament from Just Cross Stitch Oct 2012. This I will probably make into an ornament for a friend of mine who loves Halloween.

This is stitched with DMC threads on a Hand Dyed 28ct fabric.

The second mini I finished was a freebie from the Just Cross Stitch site and can be found here This is Swirly Sheep and I stitched it using a Hand Dyed thread. I don't have the details of the thread but I will add them when I have them. It is stitch on the same fabric as the one above.

IHSW Update and a couple of Thank You's

Well I didn't manage to get a lot done over the weekend but I did work a bit on Some Bunny as that has a deadline. I finished off the majority of his pants. I don't have a finished picture so in case anyone is wondering, he is looking off to the right with his hands behind him pulling a long a little cart with a toy cow in it.

I know sometimes it can be impossible to figure out how something is going to look.

Unnatural

I don't usually talk about personal stuff on here, but I just have one thing to say. My level of stress is unnatural. Ok I'm done.

Well I did do the random number generator for the winner of my $20 voucher for HAED. While there were 16 comments there were actually 14 entrants. The number generator has spoken and it said number 12! I don't have a picture of it so you all will just have to trust me :)

So the winner of the giveaway is DONNA (DJH), who told me that:

'I think that after so much "crafty" stuff, your bug needed a bit of a break. Maybe it is off in some far away land, basking in the sun, drinking a Chocolate Martini and enjoying the atmosphere.
