Every so often on lunch in work, I have a look at the WIP pictures from my blog. When I'm having an especially difficult or stressful day, I find it helps me to rebalance a bit. So while doing just that, I discovered, to my horror and shame, that my progress on QS Clara hadn't been updated! Not only that, but it was a page finish that I had neglected to share with anyone. If you're interested the last post on this project can be found HERE
HAED - QS Clara - Hannah Lynn Disney |
While I was away from the blog world I did occasionally pick up a project or two, hence the new start on Fizzy Moon. During one of these creative bouts I worked a bit on Clara and I'm really surprised that I didn't immediately hope back on my blog just to shout out loud that I had finished the last of the full pages!!
That's right folks, I have only three partial pages, two large and one small, left to fill in and she will finally be done. After finishing the last full page, I was a little tired of hair confetti so I moved to her glove, which had some larger blocks of stitching. Once the block colours were in, I filled in the rest of the glove to the black outline, which had some confetti but wasn't too taxing. Also I love filling around colour blocks, it feels like a little mini completion.
HAED - QS Clara by Hannah Lynn Disney WIP |
This project is a bit too large to fit into my small Q Snaps so I had to stop a little short of the bottom. In order to have the frame over the stitching for as short a time as possible, I plan to stitch as much as I can then fill in the last lines across the bottom. I will continue with this page before I move across to the next rather than hoping around all over the place.
I'm not too sure when you will see Clara again as I am really eager to try and finish Elegance, so she is a focus for the moment, but who knows, maybe I will take a bit of time to put in a few more stitches if I can't stand to do anymore back stitching.
Thanks to everyone for your amazing comments and thoughts on the colour error in Elegance. Everyone said the same thing, leave it alone so that is exactly what I have decided to do. Once I have put in the backstitching I can see how it looks, if it is completely off then I may have to rethink but for now that's the plan.
Bye for Now!
Lovely progress,she is beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteThansk so much Lesley, she is coming along nicely now. Hopefully it won't be too long before more progress is made
DeleteAwesome progress. She looks great. I would love to stitch some of these but I really hate all that black. I can stitch the black but have a hard time doing the fill in.
ReplyDeleteLinda
Thanks for your comment Linda. I can totally understand having difficulty with the fill in on these, it can be tedious at time. I like it as each litt;e area filled in feels like a mini vistory.
DeleteShe's gorgeous! The colors are amazing👍
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment. the colours on this piece are really beautiful and vibrant, makes hher such fun to work on.
DeleteWow! Great progress and so nice to see Clara again.
ReplyDeleteThannks so much for your comment. I know, it's shameful she has been neglected for so long and then when I did work on her I didn't post it!
DeleteWow - how could you have forgotten to share this?! She looks brilliant. I love the purples in her glove.
ReplyDeleteI do exactly the same as you when I'm having a stressful day at work...my blog is like my little haven! I have stash pages on mine too and like to look through them and plan what I'll stitch next.
thanks so much for your comment Justine. It's good to know I'm not the only one who does that to de stress. I too have all my haed charts on dropbox so can look at those on my phone on breaks. I have no idea how I over looked sharing this til now!
DeleteIt is looking great, so colourful :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment. I love Hannah Lynn charts, have so many more in my stash!
DeleteBeautiful update, she looks amazing :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Mii. I was so happy to get that final full page out of the way. 2 of the partials are still pretty large but will get there eventually :D
DeleteShe is really beautiful. You are so close now!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so myuch for your comment Melinda. She is pretty close and I am eager to be able to get back to her soon, but finish that Elegance finish.
DeleteGreat progress - I love how striking the colors are in this piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment. The colours in this are great, but moost of Hannah Lynns work is super colourful. I think that why I love her charts so much.
DeleteCongratulations on your page finish!! It looks great and I love the bright colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment. It felt great to finally get that page finished off as it had been nearly done for a long time. Now to get the partials completed.
DeleteCongrats on your page finish! Clara is looking so good 😀
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment Lulu. I do love this chart, especially her bright pink hat and blue/green hair. It's such fun.
DeleteYou are so close to a finish on this gigantic undertaking! It looks fabulous :) I can't imagine taking on anything this huge, but I love watching the progress of those stitchers like you who are that brave!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment Carol. I do find it funny that Clara is called a Quick Stitch project with 53,235 stitches. Though I suppose compared to the full sized Heaven & Earth Design charts, which have a few hundred thousand stitches, this project is relatively small :D
DeleteIt's been a while since I had time to visit my favorite blogs. Clara is looking amazing! Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment. I haven't updated on Clara in over a year so you didn't miss anything.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous project! You are so close to a finish :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment. I would love to finally get this piece finished and off the WIP list.
DeleteCongrats on your final full-page finish! She's looking great!

DeleteLovely progress, she looks so beautiful with all her colors =)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment. She does have some really fun colours but also surprisingly there are quite a few greys in there as well.
DeleteWhaaaaa!! How could you leave us in the dark about an awesome page finish LOL! She looks wonderful, your stitching is perfect. I think I will do the colouring in thing with my next Hannah Lynn, I really like the way you do this.
ReplyDeletexo Alicia
Thanks so much for your comment Alicia. I know! I still can't believe I didn't share it with you all before now, bad blogger! The colouring in can be really fun. It also has the added benefit of having lots of little finishes as you fill in the bits.
DeleteLove the bright colors on this!!!! It looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment Vickie. The colours on this are wonderful, it has been so fun to stitch with such bright, pretty threads.
